About District Attorney Darcel Clark

Born and raised in the Bronx’s Soundview Houses, Darcel Clark built her career making Bronx streets safer as an Assistant District Attorney and Judge. As our District Attorney, Darcel has transformed the Bronx DA’s office to reform criminal justice and create a fairer system that works for all Bronx families:

REFORM:

• Ended cash bail for most non-violent offenses
• Stopped prosecuting low-level marijuana arrests
• Extended early discovery policy

COMMUNITY:

• Organized Peace March with clergy
• Instituted gun buyback programs
• Started Bronx Opioid Task Force

SAFETY:

• Initiated long-term investigations and wiretaps on gangs, gun traffickers, and human and sex trafficking

TRANSPARENCY:

• Established Public Integrity Bureau
• Exonerated four wrongful convictions
• Started a diversion treatment program for drug defendants and a warrant forgiveness program
